This TCIA Pocket Guide was originally published as The Climber's Guide to Hazard Trees by the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory. This publication was shared with TCIA, and has been expanded and revised. The goal of this guide is to familiarize the worker with hazards at the tree job site. It can be used by climbers to assist in identifying hazards, in the process of determining if a tree is too risky to climb.
