Two New Harnesses from Petzl for 2026

Petzl was one of the first of the big gear manufacturers to come out with a tree-people specific harness. Over time, the Sequoia has been refined to be both sturdier and better streamlined. Now in 2026 the Sequoia has been updated and the Sequioa Plus replaces the Sequoia SRT.

Dave takes a look at each model, what sets them apart from each other, and what's been udpated from previous versions.

The Sequoia line has evolved into a tree climbing harness that has the support, flexibility, and comfort to deliver for long days in tree.

Do you have a current model Sequoia, or are thinking of getting a new one? Drop us a line and let us know what you think of Petzl's latest design.

Some of the improvements and new features on the Sequoia Plus include enahnced padding, better cut on the leg pads, double keepers/adjustment straps on the legs, and an integrated bungee tender for your floating knee ascender.

The Sequoia shares many of these, but with only a single strap on each leg, and no integrated bungee. It does have loops for attaching the Petzl knee ascent kit, however, if you wish to get this function.

The Petzl Sequoia is available here, and is a saddle option in our Professional level tree climbing starter kits.

The Petzl Sequoia Plus is available here and is available as an upgrade to any climbing kit upon request.
