Yale Polydyne is a high-strength, abrasion-resistant Double-braid rope with polyester jacket over nylon core. The nylon fibers in Polydyne give the rope added strength and more elasticity, making it stretch more and absorb more energy.  This makes it well-suited to use in negative block rigging, where the rigging system must absorb a shock load. 

The nylon fibers in the inner jacket increase strength and energy-absorption, while the tough polyester fibers in the jacket make the rope stand up to the rigors of tree work.
