16-Strand Climbing Rope
16-strand tree climbing ropes are popular for their strength, full-sized grip, and durability. Most new arborist climbing ropes are 24-trand or kernmantle, but 16-strand is till popular for moving rope systems (MRS), especially over a natural crotch. 16-strand ropes have a large carrier size and tight weave, making them stand up to the rigors of tree work, and easy to grip and handle. 16-strands are cover-dependent: outer strands provide strength, braided around a core which keeps the rope’s body firm and round.
