Auto-Braking Descenders

Auto-Braking Descenders can be part of a RADS kit, an SRS anchor system, or used as a personal descent device. Many of these descenders feature an anti-panic feature (see individual descriptions) which prevents the user from entering an uncontrolled descent if the handle is put too far into the descent position.

All auto-braking descenders will automatically brake and halt the descent when the handle is released. This makes them ideal for training new climbers, recreational climbing systems, and extremely efficient for working a tree on the descent.
