In 2011, Buckingham changed their replaceable gaff design to the “dowel & screw” style of gaffs. You’ll find both the new gaff style as well as gaffs for older models on our replacement spur gaffs page.

Shin Cup pads are an example of an inexpensive rigid pad. Steel insert in the leather prevents the spur shank from gouging the leg and keeps the pad from deforming.

Buckingham spurs with Cast Aluminum pads are an excellent investment in top of the line comfort. Cast pads are solid aluminum and won't wear out like leather. Regular width pads measure about 5” at the widest point (inside), narrow pads measure about 4 1/4” at the widest point. (Most people wear Regular width.) Foam padding replacements available here.
