“ I had high hopes for this saw, but find the self-cleaning gullets are cut into the blade in a way that often jams into the wood and keeps you from making a full stroke with the saw. Even cutting aspen and pine, I just don't get the full stroke of the saw blade. Up to the point of the deeper-cut gullet it cuts like crazy, but combine the curve of the saw with the angle of the deeper gullets and the hang ups begin. I'd say, skip this saw and get one without the "self cleaning gullets" (like the Ichiban) and you'll be better off. By the way, I have no such trouble with my Fanno saw in a similar size! ”

“Saw is ridiculously sharp and very aggressive. Best deal around! Cuts fast and smooth even on heavier branches. Scarab is not the best but at this price point it's not a problem. ”

This is like carrying two saws in one: a regular fast-cutting Ichiban Samurai saw and a fine-tooth finishing saw for leaving a smooth edge. Great for fruit trees and fine pruning cuts. Comes with hard plastic scabbard.
