Samson Tree-Master rope is a great line for natural crotch rigging due to it's high strength and wear-resistance. Tree-Master rope is a hard-lay tree strand, which means that the strands in the line are very tight, making this rope difficult to splice unless you own the Point Hudson Splicing Phid, but giving it excellent knot holding and firmness. Tree-Master is a 100% polyester rope, very strong, and abrasion and mildew resistant. Because it is a twisted 3 strand and not a braided rope, Tree-Master may rotate under load so if having a non-rotational line is important to your rigging operation, check out Samson Stable Braid.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has released the ANSI Z133 safety requirements which apply to arboricultural operations. Components of a rigging system must be used within their Working Load Limits.
This product is ANSI compliant when used within the manufacturer Working Load Limits.
A green log weight chart (found in the Samson Rigging Wheel) will aid in determining loads in tree rigging.
The full ANSI Z133 safety requirements are available on our tree care standards page.

“I bought a 600 foot spool of Tree Master 1/2" 3 strand rigging rope when we started our own business. This is the hardest lay 3 strand I have ever handled. I have used fresh lines to its designed maximum tension and it has never let me down. I have older worn lengths coiled and ready for every day use. When I choose the Tree Master for a job and wrap my hand around a skein it instills confidence. I trust it, period!
It has the characteristics of all layed rope, ie, will hackle below you if you are rappelling down longer lengths on a figure eight, and if you are lowering a heavy free hanging piece of wood, it will spin some.
It will take a set on knots if you load it hard and because it has a hard lay, is difficult to pick apart a set knot. I have had to just cut the knot from my hardware--no biggy on and end knot. However, on a midline knot that you are going to load up pretty good, I'd recommend a bowline on a bight set on a tapered pin, not a butterfly knot.
This rope is just tough, does not pick, and has great tensile strength. ”
