Kernmantle Static Climbing Rope that provides firm body and good shock mitigation.
Mercury is a balanced non-rotational rope with a high tenacity solution dyed braided polyester cover over a heat-stabilized nylon core. Retains shape with use. Ideal for SRS, this is an all around excellent rappelling, rescue, and high-strength static ascent line.
Samson's Research and Development engineers spend a lot of time testing, playing, pushing the envelope, and coming up with some pretty cool stuff. One thing they learned was that a great hand feel doesn't just come from design and materials, but also in how the rope is manufactured. They found that making tweaks to the braiding machine itself gave the new Mercury Kernmantle rope a softer feel and even better strength! Additionally, the Mercury Kernmantle line went through a rigorous battery of lab and field testing to ensure Samson puts the best rope into your hands.
Mercury is available in two colors, making it ideal for use in rescue systems or simply for coordinating your gear.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has released the ANSI Z133 safety requirements which apply to arboricultural operations.
Arborist Climbing Ropes are required to have a minimum breaking strength of 5,400 lb (24 kN) when new, and should be no smaller than 1/2” (12.7mm) unless the employee has been trained in the use of smaller line (down to 15/32” / 11mm), and the line's working elongation should not exceed 7% at 540 lb load.
Mercury 11mm meets ANSI Z133-2017 standards, so long as the user has been trained in the use of smaller diameter lines.
The full ANSI Z133 safety requirements are available on our tree care standards page.

“Had the chance to climb on this rope for the first time yesterday and if was a dream! The low stretch and tight woven outer sheath made for excellent performance in my SRT setup! Thank you so much Samson for this amazing new rope! I highly recommend to all Single liners out there!”
