The Nystron Rigging Kit contains everything you need to set up a negative block rigging system with added energy absorption using a larger-diameter rope and the Stein RCW-3001 for serious jobs.

Nystron is a double-braid rigging line with nylon core fibers, which makes it stronger and more elastic than all-polyester rigging lines. This translates to more energy absorption in your rigging system. Nystron is ideal for rigging scenarios where there is less room to let the rope run. The extra stretch in the rope helps mitigate some of the shock generated in negative blocking. An excellent choice for managing your large removal jobs.

Kit Contents:

  • 250' Nystron 5/8” (NS58)
  • Stein RC-3001 Lowering Device (RIG119)
  • ISC Large 3/4" Spring Block (PUL304)
  • 1” x 20' Tenex Tec Sling (SLI214)
  • XL WesSpur Rope Bag (BAG111)

Note: we recommend a heavy-duty plastic tote or similar case for transport of the RC-3001 unit. A textile bag will likely not stand up to it's weight and hard edges/protrusions.

The forces involved in negative blocking can be extreme. A resource such as the Samson Log Impact Force Calculator (Rigging Wheel) can be a great aid in understanding the forces generated, and keeping your system within the working load limits of your gear.
