This versatile belay and rappel device can function like a figure 8, belay tube, or belay plate - all in one compact frame. The ATS has multiple hyper-horns, which allow for a wide range of varying friction and lock-offs. The design of the ATS makes it equally useful to right or left-handed climbers. A rubber-grommeted carabiner hole provides a tight fit with a Petzl or Rock Exotica carabiner and keeps the ATS device situated perfectly.

“First plate I have ever used. I tried it both directions with 1/2" rope, no real discernible difference noticed. Easy to soft lock. I think it allows one to descend faster than a figure 8, again not a big difference. ”
