Yale Polydyne rigging lines are high-strength, abrasion-resistant double-braid polyester ropes that will deliver professional performance. Polydyne rope is constructed with a polyester sleeve over a nylon core. The unique characteristic of Polydyne rope is that it has increased energy absorption, allowing you to rig down heavier loads than you normally would on a line of similar strength. This increased elasticity does mean that the rope will stretch more, so you'll need to be aware of the extra stretch in the line. The elasticity at 10% of breaking strength is 3%.

This great article at Yale Rope's website explains the how the ability of a rope to absorb impact is affected by the elasticity of the rope. Breaking strength is not the only important factor in determining if a rope is right for the job. Dynamic Energy in Arborist Ropes
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has released the ANSI Z133 safety requirements which apply to arboriculutral operations. Components of a rigging system must be used within their Working Load Limits.
This product is ANSI compliant when used within the manufacturer Working Load Limits.
A green log weight chart (found in the Samson Rigging Wheel) will aid in determining loads in tree rigging.
The full ANSI Z133 safety requirements are available on our tree care standards page.
