Looking for a high-performance arborist climbing line with high strength and great feel? Samson ArborMaster® is for you. No other rope we stock has the same combination of strength, performance, and durability and comes in a number of color patterns to suit your needs. This rope is an excellent balance of high strength (6,500 lb. spliced) and low weight (7.7 lb. per 100 ft.). ArborMaster® is a 16-strand, single-braid, 1/2” diameter rope. ArborMaster® works well with friction hitches such as the Tautline and Blake’s hitch, and is supple and handles well for all manner of arborist's knots. Samson ArborMaster® is made from polyester with a nylon core and is highly resistant to abrasion with very low stretch

ArborMaster® comes in colors: blue/white, red/black/white, green/grey, and the blue/yellow “Bigfoot” pattern.

Customer Reviews

Rated: Excellent Review by: Rickey 5

“The strongest climbing line...period. The best 16 strand on the market in my opinion. Very long life if used correctly with a friction saver. PLUS, old ArborMaster® climbing lines make killer light duty false crotch rigging lines, or in a 5:1 mechanical advantage setup for massive pulling power.”

ANSI Z133-2012

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has released the ANSI Z133 safety requirements which apply to arboriculutral operations.

Arborist climbing lines are required to have a minimum breaking strength of 5,400 lb (24 kN) when new, and should be no smaller than 1/2” (12.7mm) unless the employee has been trained in the use of smaller line (down to 7/16” / 11mm), and the line's working elongation should not exceed 7% at 540 lb load.

Bigfoot rope meets ANSI Z133-2012 standards.

The full ANSI Z133 safety requirements are available on our tree care standards page.
