Basic Rope Climbing Starter Kit
The basic rope climbing starter kit provides equipment that is sturdy and meets industry standards. The equipment in this kit can be used to make entry into a tree and safely climb and descend the rope using the doubled rope technique. The climbing line can be attached to the saddle using a prusik not, allowing the climber to climb in the body thrust techniqe. Several upgrades are available which allow the user to climb in the single rope or secured footlock techniqe. (See the ‘Related Items’ tab below.) This is the ideal place to start for climbers on a budget.

Safety and Technical Information
- The included Weaver Saddle is intended for work positioning and not intended for use as a fall-arrest harness
- XTC 12-Strand rope has a breaking strength of 6,000 lbs. and meets the safety requirements for climbing line
- The Climb-Right carabiner included is positive-locking and has a breaking strength of 5,850 lbs (26kN)
- Regular inspection of all equipment should be performed by a trained professional
- Adherence to the
ANSI Z133.1 2006 safety requirements for Arboricultural Operations is highly recommended.

This kit contains all the basic equipment neccessary to climb a tree without spurs, and can be built on with some of the upgrades below fo additional climbing techniques. If you are climbing a tree to remove it, one of our
spur climbing kits may work better for you.
