DMM Captain Hook kit with 15m rope, spliced eye, and tool bag.
The Captain is a self-locating, high strength hook designed to aid stability and positioning for modern work-at-height techniques.
It's pivoting D shackle helps orientation and ensures reliable location on the anchor. Great for connecting to remote anchors and facilitating controlled sideways movement. Racks on harness to minimize snagging while in the tree.
Clever design allows the device to be efficiently racked when the job is done to minimize chances of snagging.
Note: the Captain no longer comes with a XSRE carabiner.

Very useful

This has been a very useful tool. Drooled over it until I finally purchased one summer from WesSpur . It has been an very invaluable tool for re-positioning in the canopy and for traversing. Also use it extensively as an extra reach tool to grab dead branches and pull them off the tree.
It takes a little getting use to tho.
I always make sure I have one with my saddle on every climb. this one is still a solid winner as it has several features not with those other new hooks, such as its ability to reliably set itself. Note make sure put a dub of that silicone lubricant on shackle part... Hook gonna love you. 😉👍
